Teacher Performance Pay Plan
YCTC has made several presentations to various community groups, including Metro-York, recommending the basic structure of a new performance pay plan for public school teachers. You can review the plan for yourself by clicking the Teacher Performance Pay Plan link in the Articles section of the system menu on the left. Please let us know if you have any additional recommendations.

Simon Campbell is a parent of 2 school-age children in Bucks County who has started a movement to abolish teacher strikes in PA. His website contains a wealth of resources that have implications far beyond the strike issue. Please take the time to visit his site and, at a minimum, look at "The Democrat Good Old Boys Club" and "Republicans Also Take Union Money" in the SIMON SPEAKS area of the site. If these don't make your blood boil, nothing will.
Campaign Finance Reporting
We've added a link to the state's campaign finance reporting search page so that you can see who gives and who gets campaign contributions. Taking the lead from Simon Campbell (www.stopteacherstrikes.com), we looked at PSEA contributions to members of the York County delegation during 2004. PSEA made 19 contributions totalling $13,760 to members of the York County delegation, including those who ran unopposed. Only Sen. Waugh received nothing from the PSEA. The big winner was Rep. Bruce Smith who received $3,700. Remember, these are all taxpayer dollars converted from school taxes to teacher salaries to union dues to campaign contributions.
